Game 01 01-15-10

Okay.. I am going to start with just posting all the old journals.

Game Summary               Game 01                                  01/15/10

                The game began with Kotri and Bron making their way to meet with General Hakar, the head of Molthune troops in and around Fort Ramgate.  They saw a large army along with many large tents that indicated Molthune was getting ready to march soon.  Negotiations seemed to open well with the General.  However, after a few minutes of talk, a masked half-orc entered the room and whispered something to Hakar.  As soon as the message was delivered, Hakar terminated negotiations and ordered his troops to kill the two diplomats.   A brutal battle ensued.
                The battle ended with Kotri dragging an unconscious Bron out a door with two enraged ogres in pursuit.  She hauled her student to a safe location where they met Tamarie (who had unfortunately been arrested for spying).  After freeing Tamarie, the party made their escape through the sewers by sneaking past two rather inept guards.
                A short trip through the sewers left the three of them with less than a pleasant odor, but they were free and relatively uninjured.  Stealing some horses, the group made a hasty retreat across the border and into Nirmathis.  Kotri opened a letter she had received from Lord Ulthun II that informed her to make her way to Tamran and report her findings to Forest Marshal Gavirk.
                Kotri, Bron, and Tamarie happened upon a small farm where Felix D’Nai and his son Malikune were preparing to plant their crops.  The old farmer welcomed what he saw as a Paladin and her entourage.  In the end, Felix convinced the party to accept Malikune and the four adventurers continued on their journey, but not before Felix gave Malikune the clues he needed to start searching for his parents.
                A day or two of travel and the group finally met the river, however, before coming too close, they heard the sound of a voice calling for help.  They had happened upon a Molthune soldier that was dangling helplessly from a cliff.  Despite the party’s best efforts, the poor soldier fell to his death.  There was nothing they could do.  Unfortunately, they had no chance to explain their position to the Molthune soldier across the river, who obviously drew the wrong conclusion, but he slipped into the foliage before anyone could act.
                The session ended with the party following the river which opened up to the ports of the City on the Sea, Tamran, the capitol of Nirmathis.

Quentin: Missed you, man.  Hope you can make it in two weeks.

Great session!  I hope to see you all together in two weeks for more adventure!
